After recently travelling to the mill to do our regular face to face meeting and inspection, we are pleased to say how impressed we were with the quality of not only the ever increasing range of Titanium wires and bars but the entire manufacturing process. Right the way through manufacturing, we have the ability to hand pick the raw materials from ingot to finished wire. If you want to book enough material we can even go back to the billet that it's all made from. Our mill has 3.175mm wire coils (approx 35 kgs) in stock for immediate shipment. As this process is still heavily under development, we welcome new enquires to help with R & D on both sides. Specialty Metals and our the mill are both proud to announce the arrival of Titanium wire for Spherical and Nano Powder. ASTM B348/ASTM B863 Gr. 1 & Gr. 2 Titanium Wire for Spherical Powder & Nano Powder Spherical powders with good flowability are interesting for this process because they can be fed more easily at a constant rate. Thermal spray usually requires powders with fine particle size distribution because short time in the hot zone can only melt efficiently particles below 45 microns. Highly spherical powders are ideal for Additive Manufacturing which requires excellent flowability and high density uniform packing. A high level of purity of the metallic powders is also critical to reach good mechanical properties and to allow the powder to be recycled many times. Given the above benefits and constant progress in the performance and productivity of the equipment, additive manufacturing is rapidly developing in Europe, North America and Asia.
